Brief History:
I was born, raised and edicated in New York state. The high shcool I attended was in Manhattan. I believe in mass transportation and going to museums. After getting my BA at a New York state university I traveled around Europe, Africa, and North America for a few years. I got to teach English, Drama, and P.E. in a NYC high school in the Bronx, after that job teaching in Downey it was rather easy.
In 1972 I came tot the west coast as an actress and eventually after several career changes ended up in the Los Angeles area wanting a job that paid reglarly the necessary classes at CSULB to get a teaching credential for the state of California (my New York City license did not count here) in the spring of 1984, and was hired by DUSD in the fall of 1984. I completed my M.A. in 1991 in English and have enjoyed these 22+ years of teaching at Warren.
A few years ago I started singing in my classes to entertain myself, my students and to help in classroom control. For me it works.
I have been married to Bill Courtney, a mathematician, for 23 years and we have one son, Sam, who was named after men his mother (but that's a whole other story). Finish.
